The purpose of the Alaskan Prospectors Society is to see and know Alaska.  Established in 1947, members have met all around the Anchorage area, at Elmendorf Air Force Base, and at Fort Richardson.  There are no dues and, after attending three meetings, one can become a member.  The club hears lectures, shares slide shows, and sponsors trips and cruises in Alaska and other parts of the world.

Anna became a member after attending three meetings and is therefore eligible to wear their club sweatshirt with patch.  The sweatshirt was made by Carol Ross.
